5 things to do when you’re stuck at home this Holy Week

Are you stuck in the city while all your friends are off somewhere for their annual summer vacations?
As bummed as you may feel for not being able to leave due to work, family or financial issues, you can still have a productive time right in your own home.
Now that you are technically on vacation, you have time to get creative, do a little spring cleaning and perhaps even make some money on the side.
Here are a few ideas:
1. Organize your closet.
What seems a bit OCD when you are busy on your day-to-day grind will seem like a great idea when you finally have a little downtime. Many times, we have things stuffed in the back of our closets that are perfectly okay to wear, we just don’t know they exist because our closets are a mess. Stack your clothes either according to garment type (shorts, pants, skirts and tops) or according to color. You will be surprised at how easy it will be for you to find things and put together better outfits once you get the ball rolling on wardrobe organization.
2. Throw out your makeup.
Cosmetics are not meant to last forever so if they are way past their due dates, chuck them! Even if you really love a particular lipstick color, there is no reason to keep it if the smell has gone off! Mascara should not be kept for more than a few months as it can breed bacteria so don’t be cheap when it comes to the health of your skin or eyes—buy a new tube! If you are one of those makeup hoarders, you will have your work cut out for you as you organize your kikay kit and select what to keep and what to throw out. Put it this way, it will give you an excuse to replenish your kit and do more beauty-related shopping!
3. Hold a garage sale.
Once you have organized your closet, what should you do with all the clothes you have outgrown or simply just don’t like anymore? Make some money by having a garage sale, of course! Price your clothes according to wear and tear and age and try not to get too sentimental! Remember that you have no use for these garments and are trying to get rid of them so be ruthless. You can buy yourself some new threads with the money you make!
4. Make your own beauty treatments.
Even if you can go out and buy face and hair masks, there is nothing better than using fresh, natural products. Now that you have the time to pamper yourself at home, get some ingredients such as yogurt, bananas, oatmeal, honey, eggs and olive oil and make your own facials and hair treatments at home. Give yourself an entire afternoon to spoil yourself!
5. Repurpose your old clothes.
You may have some clothing that you don’t like anymore but don’t want to give away or sell. You can turn these clothes into new ones (http://ph.she.yahoo.com/3-ways-to-bring-old-clothes-back-to-life.html ) with the help of a pair of scissors, a needle and thread. Turn your old pants into skirts or shorts, your oversized t shirts into halter or off-shoulder tops. There are endless possibilities to turning the old into new, exciting stuff. Use your imagination!
